About Pixel Arena
Pixel Arena is a small, fast, ad-light browser game portal. Pick something fun, click play, no signup. Most games are originals built for this site. The rest are open-source classics from generous developers, with full attribution.
Why we built this
Most game portals today are a wall of pop-ups, redirects, and accounts you have to create before you can play. We wanted somewhere a kid (or a tired adult) can land, click, and just play — Snake, Tetris-likes, word puzzles, classic arcade — within seconds.
The originals
About fifteen of the games here were written from scratch for Pixel Arena: Pixel Snake, Block Drop, Tile Merge, Memory Match, Tic-Tac-Toe, Brick Buster, Paddle Pong, Mine Hunter, Drop Four, Color Echo, Mole Mash, Reaction Time, Word Guess, Word Scramble, and Wing Tap. Original code, original art, mobile-friendly.
The vendored ones
The other games come from open-source developers who released their work under permissive licenses (CC0, MIT). We host them with full attribution — every game page links to the original author and their source repository. Special thanks to:
- Steven Lambert (straker) — eight CC0 single-file game classics: Block Dude, Doodle Jumper, Box Pusher, Helicopter Cave, Bubble Pop, Missile Defense, Hop Across, Bomb Blaster.
- 16Yongjin — five MIT-licensed single-file games: Brick Smash, Maze Run, Five Stones, Tower Stack, Janggi Chess.
- Susam Pal — Bit Defense (a self-contained MIT-licensed shooter).
- WebDevSimplified — Five Letters word puzzle, MIT.
- rembound — Match Three Pop, MIT.
Tech stack
The site is plain HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript — no framework, no build step. Hosted on Vercel's edge network. Domain managed at Spaceship. Analytics via Google Analytics 4.
